Easy Money:

First of a trilogy, parts 2 and 3 are good too.

-Not super complicated

Interestingly, when my other half watched The Departed she thought Leo DiC and Matt Damon were the same person... That made it really quite complicated for her ๐Ÿ™„

Watched Pride the other night on iplayer. Doesn't meet all of your criteria, but it's a nice film.

Denzel Washington's Equalizer is alright for 'remove brain and enjoy' purposes

Probably not what you're looking for but as we're talking movies, has anyone watched Get Out? The film about the black guy heading upstate to meet his white girlfriend's folks?

Atomic Blonde?
-IMDB 7.1
-stars Someone hot (preferably male) - Charlize Theron, there are some blocks too
- Bit gritty, heist, action - tick
-Set on earth within our generation - 1989, guess it depends on your age if it's your generation
-Bit of romance. - tick
-Not super complicated - lots of twists but you don't need to follow it, it's an action movie

Sadly, The Transporter only scores 6.8 so is a technical fail...

Fight Club? Has all of that in it.

I was going to recommend Red Cliff on the grounds that it meets absolutely none of the criteria. 7.4 on IMDb spoiled that though
Shoot 'Em Up meets all apart from IMDB (6.7) and is a marvelously plot-free piece of nonsense. With Monica Bellucci.

I think that "plot-free piece of nonsense" in fact oversells the level of Shoot 'Em Up's intellectual aspirations.

Not so much the romance but I think Hell or High Water ticks most of the boxes. And Jeff Bridges.

Plot free should really include 'Crank' or possibly 'Run Lola, Run'. However, neither reaches the magic number on IMDB.

How about a nice romantic night in watching Predator?

I like The Proposal! ๐Ÿ™‚ I am, however, quite firmly in touch with my feminine side, I think. ๐Ÿ˜‰
