He seemed to be one of the few entertainers from ‘that’ era who didn’t have a shady side. Family man, genuine.
Today is my own father’s funeral. He was a big fan and also died at the age of 76 last week. One of my earliest memories was seeing them in Pantomime when I was 5. Particularly poignant day.

I'll be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of Cannon and Ball, but his appearances in other recent stuff have been really good, great comic timing and acting.
As others have said, no shady past, and the fact that my 17 year old saw the news and said "he was great in Not Going Out" shows a real wide appeal.

Went to see Cannon and Ball in a sea side variety show with the family when I was a kid
Loved their act and waited for an autograph afterward, both very lovely chaps

He was great in NGO and Mount Pleasant.
For me, one of those comics who didn't have to do or say anything to make me chuckle. Just a classic, comical and mischievous face.
