Probably because Sainsburys is a sh1te supermarket.
But then again, Robertsons make sh1te jam ......... so take your pick.

Try Tesco.

I've got a skanky bit of strawberry jam in the bottom of an old jar you can buy?

That's why I'm here Pigface 8)

Funnily enough, I bought some Robertsons jam in Tesco recently - foul sugary stuff.

Still, that'll teach me to be a skinflint and think I can save a few pennies on Bonne Maman apricot conserve..............it's packed with fruit, don't you know ?

That's what I try to haggle down to when I'm at the checkout.

anything not home made or with 'Bonne Maman' on the label is just not going to cut it in chez Wright

[edit] from 'mad' to 'made'

Do Tesco do a non-vegetarian version of that strawberry jam Dobbo ?

Because whilst I find the "quality guaranteed" claim on the label rather tempting, I'm not sure how I would feel about slapping a dollop of jam on my toast which doesn't contain a least a bit of meat in it.

Local WI

Great fresh baking (unbelievable range of both sweet and savory), veg (picked that morning), preserves (I can recommend the spicy tomato chutney), eggs etc

Very few of my age bother though and just head off to the co-op 100 meters away.

Great shame

there's a lot less local WI type stuff knocking around as they introduced a whole load of ludicrous health and safety rule which caused a lot of people to give up altogether.
