This was my good friend Rich. Not sure exactly where it happened, but it was touch and go in the hospital for a while. He's had his spleen removed, and looks to be on the road to recovery now, though it will probably be quite a long road.

Dalby Forest mountain biker airlifted after fallA mountain biker who fell off his bike in a North Yorkshire forest has been airlifted to hospital with serious internal injuries.

The man, from Grimsby, was riding on the red route through Dalby Forest on Friday afternoon.

The Great North Air Ambulance took him to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.

A spokesman for the air ambulance said the rider was saved from further injury by wearing a helmet.

The spokesman said: "The rider sustained very serious internal injuries which were life-threatening.

"This could have been worse if the patient had not been wearing a cycle helmet and with a group of friends."

Hope he recovers quickly and well

fell off his bike - wish they wouldn't put it like that - hit a rock/tree/moose, at speed, and was catupulted over the bars would, probably, be more accurate.
