What's the simplest & most reliable wearable for recording resting heart rate?

fitbit have just produced the alta hr. no personal experience and the style may not be to your taste but probably worth a look?

There's an app called instant heart rate that's OK once you perfect the position you need to get with your finger tip on the camera screen
