I've got a 7.4kW Mira and have "acquired" an 8.7kW....to be legit of course I should get my sparky in to fit it...but do I really need to? It looks identical so I think fittings etc should be fine.

What size is the cable? What rating is the circuit breaker? What size is the earth wire?

All need to be increased in size for the more powerful shower IIRC unless your existing installation was overspecced

Electrics and water, get a professional otherwise every time you use the shower you will always have that nagging doubt if you wired it correctly
