I am off at Easter to visit some relatives who do not have broad band so I was wandering if there is some remote way of connecting? Maybe using 3G or something?

If you have a so-called smart phone, you can configure that as a wirelsss router.
Or you can get a 3G dongle from anywhere; it's dear though.
Have you thought of doing without?
