Or is it just me?

Two or three times this winter, been absolutely fine one minute then "wallop" - aches, shivers, nausea, temperature, loss of appetite, full on "£20 note test" type flue symptons, then 24-36 hours later, back to right as rain again.

Struck again yesterday lunch time, suddenly starting to feel better again now, only yesterday afternoon was my window of opportunity for a decent ride this week.

Which is now rather annoying.....

Me too.

I've got just those symptoms and am glad to read you've only had it for 24-36 hours suggesting I'm nearly done. Currently feeling awful and woke up intermittently with sweats and shivers throughout the night. This is the latest in a line of colds and sickness I've had in the last two weeks each with a few days off inbetween!

£20 note test? Must be northern flu - it's a £50 darn sarf. 😀

LOL @ BWD - though at about 3.30 this morning it did cross my mind....not sure that malarial mosquitos have reached Derbyshire yet.....

Dr Bakes - mine seems to the 24 hour hit and run version, a mate has similar recurrent bugs like you describe every winter, he was moaning about it this morning when we both agreed we couldn't face a night ride tonight or even a stroll to the pub.....

I'd been the picture of health all year until last week then wham!

Good job I sent my suspension off for a service so I don't feel I'm missing out too much. I'm crawling off home to bed now.

woke up this morning and felt like i was getting a real sore throat kicking in. its nearly gone now. every other day for the past 4-5 weeks ive had the same as you. Lots of other folk popping into the shop along with my brother has had or has this same sort of virus. The other day i had a tickly throat and couldnt stop coughing. Its settled down now and moved onto the sore throat. Folk seem to be affected in slightly different ways.

Grrrrr - felt fine yesterday, rode into work, got struck down again last night - fever, shivers, aches, exhausted.

Just shaking it off again now. Think I'll have to try and rest up this weekend and try and clear this thing properly

So, we've ruled out malaria, ebola, herpes and glandular fever.....

Doing the rounds in our house - been on and off for about 5 weeks now, varying from man-flu, to bad guts, to a stinking cold.

Currently in week 3 of probably the shittiest cold I've had in decades in terms of snot and phlegm. Thought I'd got over it until a week ago when it kicked in again.

+100

started feeling cak last night, shivers and sweats all night, now can't swallow. Probably not helped by being on immunosuppressants as well.

Always at the weekend as well 🙁

Back to bed I go

+1 for the weekend problem - had plans for a big road ride this weekend, missed every weekend this month due to this "intermittent fault"
