Yo.
A shove with my foot to scoot a pair of jeans away from the bed resulted in the area just in front of the ankle knobble clipping the edge of the bed in the right spot to burst a vein in my foot. It immediately hurt like hell, and now about 60 hours later a brown and blue splodge about 10cm across.
Generally I don't bruise, even from a straight punch in the face*, so as it goes, it's a definite class above.
This is just as I have started going running again. Grrrrr.
I don't think it's bad by any means, but I can imagine the increased HR and the forces of waving the foot around carry a risk of either causing it again or stopping it healing etc. Plus wearing shoes hurts right now.
How long should I leave it before I run? Ride? Get off my ass and do something apart from fanny around on the forum?
TIA!
*What? It was NOT deserved!
Painful bump
Last, limping, bump
Have you tried puncturing it?
Have you tried puncturing it?
! Yikes !
No - it's not a raised thing, more like normal bruise only it is centred on the vein, I must have just split it a little like a hose that's been run over too many times on the driveway.
As I said, I don't think it's particularly bad, just seems one of those things that could get worse or not heal if not treated correctly - hence a question.
Many years ago I did slice into a vein with a razor thinking it was dirt trapped in a very large piece of scar tissue. Holy **** it hurt like hell and I am never doing that again!
I just want you all to know I lost my foot because no-one gave me any advice.
Thants
That was careless. It'll be in the last place you look.
Anyway this thread is useless without pictures.
