Misplaced mine and not liking the new nano so I'm looking for a new mp3 player around 6 to 8gb and as small as the 4th generation nano and don't fancy paying stupid amounts of money.

The Sansa is very good and sounds excellent as long as your headphones are reasonably sensitive and neutral.

It does struggle if you have to apply much equalisation.

The other option to look at is the Cowons, I have an iAudio 7, of which the current equivalent is this:

their user interfaces are sometimes iffy but the non-android ones offer exceptional battery life and very good sound.

The new Nano is pants for sports use. Sometimes touch screens are just not the right way to go. Incidentally previous Nanos are bombproof, so might be worth seeing if you could get a 4/5th gen one cheap.

....I should add, I have had a Sansa clip, but the track sorting was a bit iffy. Apart from that it was faultless.
