Up to £399.99 with a good spec and the screen larger than 14".
What, where and what's so good about it?
Thanks!

I've got an emachines e730, had for a few months now. Very impressed. Think it matches your requirements.

£10 over your budget, but considering it will beat any other £400 laptop hands down in terms of spec, I'd spend the extra £10 gladly!

DEFINITELY would not invest in an older architecture processor any more, core i3's and i5's are worth the slight extra spend for definite, and will last much longer before needing an upgrade...

Does anybody sell laptops OS-free? I have a valid licence for XP, Vista (several types) but would prefer Linux installed anyway.

argos outlet on ebay have some around that range - they HAD a samsung R580 for £449 or something but it seems to have gone.

Europc.co.uk is worth a look.
