I can't seem to find any - I live in Hudds and want to have a look round a few but I'm struggling to find many places. Can go to Manchester area and York/Sheffield etc.

Anywhere that might sell indoor or outdoor stuff, furniture etc.

Not antique shops though really.

Any ideas?

Andy Thornton's in Greetland (Halifax) used to be utterly amazing. It has gone a bit upmarket now but it still worth a look.

The antique shop on the Holmfirth side of the Lockwood lights is quite good too - I had some furniture from there when I lived in Meltham.

I had a black limestone hearth cut at Hoylands Rec just off J30something at Barnsley Turn off.
I'm thinking there is also one nr Hudds or Halifax[edit: as above]

Bygone Times @ Chorley used to be worth a day out (it's 20yrs since I've been, so may have changed).

Depends on your tastes and what you are looking for but the French house in York is excellent. Also have a shop in London that they can ship stuff up from.

There's one off New Hall Lane as you drive into Preston from the M6.

Monde - that FrenchHouse is taking the wee!! have you seen the prices they are charging - some nice stuff but a lot of cack....

e.g. http://www.thefrenchhouse.co.uk/-/galleries/london-showroom/beds/bedside-cabinets/1516d - £280 for something dull/worn out(not patina in this case, knackered!) and uninteresting. Crazy.

Went in recently, its a mixture of really high end architectural salvage and newly produced stuff (made to look old). Not much for normal people there.

The antique shop on the Holmfirth side of the Lockwood lights is quite good too - I had some furniture from there when I lived in Meltham.

I must have driven past that place thousands of times and never gone in, other people have mentioned that too so I'll have to pop in, thanks for reminding me.

https://www.insitumanchester.com/

and

A scabby looking place on Upper Chorlton Road:

Have both appeared on Quest Tv's 'Salavage Hunter'.

The second place doesn't look much but had a lot of stuff from old hotel buildings and libraries etc. from around Manchester.
