I got a random phone call this morning from people wanting to help me reclaim PPI insurance - not sure how they got my number and no-doubt they're ambulance chasers, so I sent them away with a flea in their ear.
But it has got me thinking there is money I could be reclaiming.
Is it a hassle? Has anyone done it? Are any of these companies worth working with for ease?
Do I just need to take a deep breath and go to Money Saving Expert?

Yes, or if you can't be arsed doing it yourself go to one of these firms that take a cut. Most of them are no win no fee.
Did you actually take out a loan with PPI attached? The company who cold-called me assumed I had, "because you took out a loan in the last 10 years"...
I did this last year, filled out the form on which? website and 2 weeks later i had a call from my bank with an offer (amount paid plus 10%). 2 weeks after that i had £1600 returned to me. Simple!

Cheers supremebean - that's the kind of easiness I like!
Indeed listening to the radio the other day, you fill out a single form with exactly the same info you'll need to provide to any of the companies, & you get the cash without their fee... Silly not to basically.
They keep phoning me, very annoying especially as they loose interest when I admit to never having had a loan
No probs, i did'nt think it would be so easy myself. Quite literally 2 mins to fill out, no complaints from the bank either, they were ever so helpfull.
Two weeks before, i tried to use the insurance as i had quit my job but they refused, idiots!
I wouldn't have got the refund if i had used the ppi. 😀
