Harry Potter, The deathly hallows part 1. Pretty tedious, 3/10. Got the second one to watch tonight.

Super - I thought it was going to be more of a comedy and not so violent, it makes the Sopranos feel delicate!

I think it was a good film though, largely carried by Ellen Page who is a great actress. I might have to re-watch it knowing what to expect.

I watched "A Single Man" last night.
Beautiful film and beautifully filmed too. I was surprised at the cast but it all worked well.

9/10

District 9

8.5 / 10, the best film I've seen in a long, long time

Transformers: Dark Side of The Moon.

Good CGI, but it was too long, no story, the bird is pretty fit. Shia la boeuf is as annoying as always. I laughed once, got tense a couple of times (i'd had a curry and was sat with people i didn't want to fart all over), and cried zero times. Didnt see the need for the random f-bombs either, they never had that in the cartoons!

Don't bother, save yourself 2 and a half hours, go for a ride instead.

Super 8 -mostly enjoyed it but not sure if I was hoping for a more "confrontational" ending. On the whole quite enjoyable though.

The Wrester, 8/10. A bit too close to my life though - well if you swap IT work for wrestling anyway....

Neds. Started out OK, of interest as a period piece to anyone who grew up in the 70s or in Glasgow, but it lost its way badly towards the end and it could have ended a good 20 mins before it did.

Muppets on Saturday night. Pants. Didn't work on any level I'm afraid. Kids didn't get any of the reference points and the adult level opportunities were woefully igroned. 2/10. Mrs W loved it because it reminded her of a happy time and not the actual story/plot/content.

Apollo 18
aside from the budget conscious found footage plot device it wasn't too bad a couple of genuine frights and good use of claustrophobic space suits/apollo lander. 7/10

Warrior, 8/10 enjoyable, but unbelievable and the fights you wanted to see didn't happen.

Tyrannosaur - ROSES - Paddy Considine's whimsical laugh-a-minute fun-filled romp - what larks, Pip! Grim, uncomfortable and captivating.

Watched this last night. Had a knot in my stomach, and couldn't relax from start to finish, but what a brilliantly made film.

Watched Women in Black thought Harry potter was good in the film, but didn't think it was scary, unlike some pathetic teenage girls shrieking & screaming at every opportunity, got warned by the missus when I threatened to eject them, also the women behind was a pain in the arse commenting on each supposedly tense moment, going to the cinema is getting less & less enjoyable because of the other idiots in the cinema either on there mobiles or talking. And breathe!

I must have watched a dozen films while flying from Glasgow to Auckland and back. Stand outs were (of the films I hadn't watched already) Margin Call - financial thriller 7.5/10. Ides of March - political thriller 8.0/10 and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - 8.0 out of 10.

Win win - laugh out loud funny the reviews said, It's not. 2/10.
The Debt - ok but not recommendable as such. 5/10
Melancholia - different and not everyone's taste but 4/10,
Project Nim - docufilm of mild interest only 3/10
Tree of Life - eh? 1/10 and I'm being kind.

£15 largely wasted via Blockbuster. I've started reading books again.

The Artist.
Utterly marvellous. Fun, really good fun. Some very clever little throwaway jokes (Dog's name in the credits of one of the films in the story), the best performance by an eyebrow since Roger Moore and a great soundtrack.

A real cinematic triumph, IMHO. Lovely. Just lovely. A delight.

Bridesmaids - utter dross 2/10. Only missed out on a 1/10 because mega shark vs crocosaurus was a lot worse.
