When running an appliance drain into the sink outfall, does the appliance feed need to go in before the trap? or can I fit into a Tee piece on the pipe after the trap?

I'd go before or you'll get all sorts of nasty niffs in your appliance.

before the trap unless you put another trap in the appliance feed
