Mrsjova has decided to take up running to keep fit.
She doesn't need advice on shoes, diet, regime etc as my brother is taking care of that.
What she needs is details of shops/suppliers of sports bras, to hold everything in place.
We're in Guildford, so anywhere within a reasonable driving radius, if anyone knows of a shop with a goood variety of product and knowlegable/helpful staff.

M&S - they do a copy of the shock absorber which in my opinion is better and more comfortable, and half the price

Last pair of trainers I bought for jogging came from Sweatshop and they do bras and clothing too. They can do foot and gait analysis and even let me take the shoes out for a test run though whether they can offer the same service for bras is unknown to me. John Lewis have a great fitting service and can recommend you some sports bras. Also if you are looking for a bargain, TK Maxx is where I get my sports bra tops for cycling from. Its a top but with the bra built in so its much more comfortable than a tight bra and then another layer over that.

it is times like these that you realise that apart from boring chain shops guildford does not have any decent useful shops anymore...

I can second Shock Absorber. I think they make great sports bras, and I got some at TK Maxx, although its a bit of a chance if they have the right size in stock.
A second vote for M&S and John Lewis, but don't get a bra at the first fitting, do a fitting at both and then see how you feel about each of the options.
M&S can vary greatly in their offering, and will try and sell a slightly bigger bra if they don't have your size in stock.
Remember once you have the bra on to do a full range of streaches to ensure the bra doesn't ride up or move about too much, and always jump up and down on the spot to make sure it is giving the right support.
Depending on how erm "big" she is she may find a halter neck more comfortable than a tradtional front/back fastening bra

In Guildford I would suggest checking out Debenhams as they definitely sell sports bras, close by is La Senza (think they sell Sloggi) and possibly A & N.

Debenhams definitely sell shock absorbers. How much other choice she'll have depends on size.
I have had a few shock absorber bras and recently I've binned the new ones as they rub. I ended up getting mine from sweaty betty on line they come in some nice fluro pink as well! They are a little more expensive, but they retain their shape really well, wash very well and are super suportive... however I think they may only be so good for the slightly smaller lady!!!

Not strictly true, it's a bit of a sods law thing. If you want them to get smaller they're the last place you lose weight, if you don't they're the first!

Another vote for She Active - my wife used to get a bunch of stuff for various sports from them when were in London and worked in/around Covent Garden.
Got talking to one of the girls in there too about ski gear - she really did seem to know her stuff (I lived in that industry so was able to judge) and not just what the reps rattle off; if the staff are still of that calibre, she won't get fobbed off I'd have thought.
Sweatshop in Teddington or Sweaty Betty in Richmond according my my running pal (she did the Flora thingy this year).

I knew Debenhams had a new 'sports section' but I thought it would probably be all pikey stuff. I'll get her to have a look in there as well.
Hadn't thought about La Senza but if they do Sloggi kit then could also be worth a visit.
I wish she'd stuck to riding bikes and things I know about. As a man my knowledge of bras is very limited.
