I've been trying to see if the full blue route is open again after the recent maintenance and additions. Can't see anything on the collective Facebook page.

Anyone been in the last day or 2 who could let me know?

I was there yesterday and the second half of the blue descent was closed with work being done. I also realised that it’s probably time to take my summer Ikons off.

Yeah, saw last weekend that it was diverted onto the red. You can still do the wonderful, family friendly climb at the start though 😆

How wet is it on the red? Worth a visit?

It's all getting a bit sloppy but was going to do a couple of laps of the blue with the dog today. I'll prob go anyway and report back later.

I won't do any closed sections by the way!

Yeah, still being worked on at the weekend. I would expect it would be shut for the new works to bed in. I would do the blue, then at the top of the shut descent head L down the fireroad and take the contouring link halfway down on the L to snakebites then do the final red climb and descent.

Holds up pretty well in this weather. You will get splattered though!
One of the berms on the last descent has crumbled away pretty badly, hope the collective have some plans for a bit of repair there 🙂

Did the red descent and lapped the blue downhill that was open. It's still quite grippy apart from the roots as usual. Having sausage baguette and beer now.

Be great if everyone could stay off the closed section
It will be worth it as the new works are pretty epic.
The added features will be faster and a little different , but its being ridden before its settled and bedded in.

Desperate to give it a go.

It's open! It's very good too. Good work trailbuilders. A few new features - a lovely flowy jump into a berm and a big 'ol tabletop. The other berms are repaired and built up so you can really fly down it now. Lovely.

Yay! I saw what I could from the top of the closed section and it looked good.

Great, that's my Saturday sorted, it's about the only place where my summer tyres are still OK.

So we got to QE and the other half forgot her helmet. I went for 1 quick lap then gave her my helmet to have a go.

Bloody good job collective! The jump into the left hander gave me a wee fright but looking forward to commiting it memory!

What happened to it?

Must admit, it did seem slightly out of place, given the nature of the rest of the trail...

Kidz & crashes happened to it. I reckon there needs to be a skills area now, unfortunately. Kids were sessioning the new Blue section (actually walking up the side of the hill!).. Probably can't even ride the natural stuff yet and trying to do jumps. Ah well, I'm too old to understand.

That whole new section of berms and the tabletop were a little different to the majority of the blue but they were excellent and could all be rolled around at walking pace. Shame if the tabletop has been decapitated

Latest FB pic shows it's almost completely flattened. Shame for the fellas that put in the hard work, I think. And there was only 2 of them there sorting it this weekend. Bless em.

Where are you seeing that DezB? I've seen nothing on the QECP Trail Collective page?

Oh there's a new QECP riders' group. It's mostly bollocks, but useful for knowing when the trails are closed for work - search "QECP Mountain biking group" in FB

Actually, I don't know how I ended up in the group - one of the Collective must've added me.

Asked to modify the tabletop before being told to moodify the table by the park.
A few too many incidents and one majoor one meant it had to be re-worked.
Did it fit in ? Yes and No.
Being able to satisfy the needs / wants of a range of skill levels from 6yr olds to teenage dirt(bags) jumpers is a big ask.
