Some great '80s footage and loads of commentary from Chuck D and Hank Shocklee (who was wearing a Specialized top - MTBer?), Prof Griff and Flav.
Well worth a look if you didn't catch it last night. Probably repeated this week and on iPlayer.
Cracking programme, took me right back. I still don't think there's been a better album than "Nation of Millions" in the genre. I remember the wall of noise production as being incredibly dense at the time, sounds almost spare against some of what's come since though.
Thanks for the tip off, Chuck D is a smart guy, was in a lift with him once at the BT Tower, very bizarre.
and follow it up by watching CB4?

and who knew dave pearce was some kind of hip hop scholar?
PE are definitely one of the acts I'd really have liked to see back in the day, their gigs looked amazing.
Dave Pearce is a man of many talents.

Dave pierce is a real hip hop head, a real champion for the music back in the 80's.
I saw the spesh top too. Who'd have thought hip hoppers would ride bikes. ๐
Good documentary.
Saw them in Glasgow earlier this year doing fear of a black planet
fantastic best thing ive seen in a while
I was gonna go but for some reason I decided against it, i was in the front row of some of last nights footage though...
Great band.
Anyone know what the track was just at the end, where Chuck was walking along the road? Newer material I think, brassy.
who knew anyone would be surprised that Dave Pearce knew about Hip-Hop !
CB4 - classic movie:
They remain unmatched.
One of Pete Rock's finest...
You wouldn't spill the S1Ws pints would you...?
Pint of lemonade, that is..
I seen a guy trying to take griff's glove off his hand while his was shaking hands at the front of the crowd...it was a gesture politely rebutted. ๐
