The Trustpilot site is certainly giving their name a hammering.
Topcashback on Millets takes them down to £165 (I think).
Topcashback. How does that work then? What's the catch?
I received an email this morning at 8:36 from websales.uk@garmin.comDear Customer,
We are contacting you regarding your recent order for the above device . We are currently experiencing delays in our processing your outdoor wearable unit , unfortunately shipment will be delayed during this time. Thank you for your patience.
Kind regards,
Dephna
Garmin Europe
Just got the cancellation email as well, that's the final straw, it's over between me and Dephna 🙂
What’s the catch?
Millets actually having any I'd say, or - as I actually experienced myself from them, it's not the solar version.
@bonzodog , it seems they struggle with percentages, I just entered the 20% code also got 25% off
Unless anyone received one of those, I can’t be *rsed.
I received a white surf which I think is on the list
@bonzodog have you tried the code? Had Instinct solar sunburst in basket at £185.99 with the code applied
Cheers @BenHouldsworth

Haha. Garmin. You couldn't make it up 😀
I got the fascist bully boy email too.
Sad
Cancelled!
Surprisingly, just had the same email. Oh well.
Was thinking about ordering one later this year anyway so the 20% voucher is tempting.

25% as it turns out.
Hi Garmin,
Having read most of the hammering that is ongoing over on the Trustpilot site, it seems I am not the only disgruntled customer with a cancelled Garmin order.
I would just like to know why some people got their orders at the Christmas discount price, but not others?
Surely the 'technical error that affected the listed prices on the Garmin.com site for December 25th and 26th 2021' should affect all orders, and not just a few that were cherry picked?
That just isn't fair.
I didn't receive a response to my previous email at this address, so I don't hold out much hope with this one.
Happy New Year

Code gives additional 20% of the full £319.99 retail price off (20% of £319.99 is £64)
£249.99 - £64 = £185.99
It’s all kicking off on Trustpilot…
Unhappy attempted customers
I mean, I get it, but jeez... Get over yersens
Some of the Trustpilot comments are 1st world problem gold. 🤣
Some folk need a sanity check.
Someone made a mistake, the scale of that mistake wasn’t immediately obvious, staff were empowered to deal with the issue as they saw fit made different decisions and it took a few days over Christmas and New Year to sort out.
I do wonder how some folk deal with real challenges that life can throw up. FFS

£249.99 – £64 = £185.99
Ahhh.
What?
The email does say the discount works 'in conjunction with any current promotion' so I'm guessing that's how they're working it out.
Shame it's not on all products, they would have had an edge 530 out of me.
Well that blew up didn't it?
I'm more hacked off at being told by webchat it was all fine shortly before the cancellation than anything else.
Despite the email, my order is still showing as pending 🤔

Well, the email did say "within 48 hours".

I've had the email saying my order has been cancelled. There goes my 5oth present.
It's been a wild ride for those in it and us watching. I nearly bought in when the PSA was posted. Decided the Instinct wasn't for me and I really did want a Fenix. Found a 6s on facebay, popped round the guys house, he gave me the watch, I gave him some cash. Bit of an easier way to do a deal 🙂
Wouldn’t be totally surprised if the folks kicking off most on trust pilot and other places are in the main folks ( scalpers ) who have hoovered up loads ( or thought they had ) and have already sold them on via E bay ( or similar )
Well done to the lucky sods on here who got them, to the rest… better luck next mistake ( I’m in that group )
Sorry to hear the bad news guys.
Utterly bizarre that some orders are honoured, others not.
Nearest ive been to this situation is a mis-price on a TV years back. Curry's sent a letter to every person that had made the order, explaining the error, which is fair enough.
Garmin are a bit of an odd company on so many levels...
My code it anyone wants it -
GRMN20-NYS-JIQ-XW56
Utterly bizarre that some orders are honoured, others not.
Lots of different colours, some ran out quickly, some didn't?.
I’m more hacked off at being told by webchat it was all fine shortly before the cancellation than anything else.
Shocking truth: web chat very often knows the same as or less than the customer.
Right. I've enjoyed experiencing the highs & lows of this shit show for the last dozen or so days with you guys, but as far as I'm concerned, it's a wrap!
Massive thanks to @5lab
Catch you all on another thread 😀
Really weird. I ordered very late Christmas night, and noticed that some of the colours were showing at the original full price, so ordered a tactical as it was at the sale price.
I figured they'd sold all the volume they wanted at the low price. Seemed that was the case when people started receiving them.
Anyway, I don't really want it at 20% (although the actual code takes it from £249 to £185 which I make about 26%)
If anyone wants 26% off, help yourself: GRMN20-NYS-JAV-XV99
Does this code work for Fitbit or Polar?
Aye, it's a crock of shit. Everyone knows it. Garmin know it too.
Whatever they were intending, they have achieved a spectacular own goal. They must have weighed up the potential reputational damage Vs the potential financial hit, and made a decision.
Does this code work for Fitbit or Polar?
Only if you can find them in the official Garmin store.
Only if you can find them in the official Garmin store.
You think I'm ever going to look in there again? 🙂

Easy decision IMHO. Garmin has no like for like competitors. Plenty others do bits of what they do, but no one does watches like they do - especially the Instinct.
Just had mine cancelled, on the positive side I am now £96 better off and it has saved me the hassle of sending it back to Garmin, as every other device has been! 🙂
Got the cancellation email, I'm never going to buy a garmin again. Well not until the fenix 7 or something is out...
Ah well it was too good to be true,
Easy decision IMHO. Garmin has no like for like competitors. Plenty others do bits of what they do, but no one does watches like they do – especially the Instinct.
I was thinking similar. Some griping on the internet that'll give them a tough Q1 financially will be offset but the trickle of reviews for the new Vivo's, Fenix 7 and then the Instinct 2 later in the year. Things will pick up.
Its a shame that code only lasts until the end of the month, 20% of one of the new devices could have been slightly easier to swallow.
Code only works for the devices that had the silly discount mistake. So instinct solars and posh enduro.
I too got the email and code. Not overly fussed as I didn't really need it (like 90% of the buyers I reckon) and can accept it was a mistake on Garmins part.
Bit annoying that some got them, but meh, it's not worth crying over.
With hindsight the PSA was clearly a mistake and it would be commercial suicide to discount them so far - even if they could afford it.
We live and learn, next 🙂
Some griping on the internet that’ll give them a tough Q1 financially
Not a chance, given the amount of kit they shift all over the world, it'll have zero effect on them, because like the folk on here - they've lost nothing.
4 billion turnover, 16,000 employees.
I think they can afford a few disgruntled bargain price gougers, I’d hazard a guess most of the cancelled orders were going to get flipped onto eBay for quick profit anyway
