For Douglas Admas fans Dirk Gently's on, on BBC 4 in a couple of minutes
I recorded the first few episodes and started watching the first the other day, but just couldnt stick it. None of the original author's humour and little else to carry it.

And where's the sofa on the stairs?
I recorded the first ep and accidentally got the version with half the screen taken up with signing. Couldn't find it on the streaming players because I was looking for a BBC Four show on 4oD...
Agrees with Stoner - woefully disappointing. HDA is one of the few books I have re-read but the adaptation is humourless.
I wanted to like it when it was first on.
Didn't bother this time.
I'm persevering with it, last episode recorded last night. It's sort of OK but doesn't have much to do with the books and is nothing like as good.
