The Vulcan is due to fly today, 1640 at the Farnborough airshow.

I'll be having a "coffee break" in the office carpark which backs onto the airfield 😉

Anyone know if there's any TV coverage of the show?

Don't think so. Back in the day Raymond Baxter used to host a TV programme from Farnborough on the Sunday of the show, anyone remember those ?

Thanks for that ATP - might nip up on to the Hogs Back for a look later. Rain forecast from 13:00 though - hope the cloud cover will stay high-ish.

No probs, if you fancy a longer jaunt then you can bike to the end of the runway by pootling along the Basingstoke canal towpath 🙂

Good viewing to be had just there or on the hillside just south of the A323 (although that *is* the designated "crash area" if the pilots have to ditch the kite 😉 )

Can someone please take a video of it (with sound) and post it up here?

(38 secs in) To keep you going till this arvo...

Or should that be Avro ,didn't know Ian Holloway liked planes 😉

Popped over to Farnborough a couple of times this week, not enough sunshine in the afternoon but loving the noise from the Typhoon

What're the highlights this year?

I saw the Vulcan and, whilst extremely impressive, it came at the end of a long day of extremely impressive stuff, which lessened its impact.

We went to the show.. I think one of these years I go and sit on the hill instead, see it from a different angle.

Just had a fly past from 2 'jets', south of Godalming. Not sure what they were, but they set quite a few car alarms off!

Just got home from the show. The Vulcan was *loud* (tho not as loud as the eurofighter which actually hurt).

Quick piccy....

Great pic!

Didn't see it, but heard it which is impressive enough seeing as I'm in Guildford, 10 miles away....

Cheers. Lots more like that - good spot at the end of the runway in the rain! I'll bung some more up later.

Nice pics Ewan & Muke.
I *love* the Vulcan noise. Seen it a couple of times at the Windermere airshow and once at the RAF Leuchars airshow. That low whistle and the flat silhouette as it comes in then suddenly the gates of hell open up. 🙂

My Dad used to live near one of the V Bomber bases in East Anglia - said the noise when they used to do 4 bomber scrambles was just unbelievable.
