Help!
I have an electric garage door and one of the remotes is on it's way out so I am looking to replace it so we always have a back up. However I have now bought (and returned) two remotes that claim to be programmable yet I have been unable to programme them despite following instructions to the letter.
Is there specific ways to programme certain ones (I have read about needing to send a signal from the receiver unit on some websites, but neither replacement I tried said I needed to do that).
If it helps the brand of the existing remote is 'Global' (I can't find any reference to that brand online however I have found a visually identical one here http://www.garage-door-remotes.co.uk/slavedor-sd1-prog.htm) and the system is 'DCS' (Dynamic Code System) as it says on the original box the existing remote came in. This makes me wonder if it is on a unique frequency and not on the 433mhz stated on the back which renders it impossible to programme a new one from?
Thank you for any help and advice received!
Is yours a rolling code type?
If so you need to order a rolling code type
I have this one which learned both the rolling code of my garage opener as well as the fixed code of my garage alarm.

I don't know if it is or isn't (I didn't have the door installed myself - it was already installed when we moved in) but this 'DCS' mentioned on the packaging suggests it may be. Is there any way of finding out if that is the case?
