I've got a PC running XP with a printer connected via USB. The printer is set up as a shared resource.

PC is networked via a cable to a wireless router. I have a laptop running XP which connects to the router which I want to print to the printer from but I can't add it as a printer over the network to the laptop but it works if I connect it via the USB cable.

What am I doing wrong?

is the router enabled to share network resources?

Locate the computers name -> right click with your mouse on the "my computer" & select properties -> locate the computer name tab, your computers name is under the full name row -> type this name into the laptap at the "run" prompt in the format \\computer name and hopefully the computers shared resources - the printer should appear -> right click it and select "connect"....
