My better half is a bit of an artist and is after a scanner that can scan paintings well and print them with as accurate colours as possible. Any suggestios? Oh and a combined copier would be useful.

I would totally recommend the Epson ones. You need to pay a bit more, up around the £160-250 mark, but you'll get the benefits from it. The higher the scanning numbers the better, and a high dpi number for the print as well. Six ink colours help, or more, like light cyan, light magenta and grey, which help expand the subtle washes in watercolours. A mate bought an Epson several years ago for £250, on my recommendation. I used it to scan four Mint Sauce cartoons done for me by JoB. I was amazed at the quality of repro. I used to scan on a £65000 Crosfield 6250 drum scanner, then an A3 Scitex flatbed scanner that cost £35000. The Epson was far better than the Scitex for the scan, but not as good as the Crosfield. Set-up is crucial, though, so take some time and do it properly.
