I don’t get it. At all. Getting away from hateful family, that I understand. Trying to sell everything I possibly can to make them look bad whilst asking for and making a ton of money, but at the cost of quite possibly irreparably damaging your reputation. Why?

I very much doubt he and his wife will ever run out of money. The worlds press seem to have an opinion on everything they do so they sorta have the right to use their platform to say something back i figure. And the idea they could "disappear" is crazy because thats worked so well for even the most minor celebrity hasn't it. im by no means a royal and think some of the stuff hes said done is stupid, I just think this view is an over simplification.

yeah, I’m no follower of royal stuff either, so I did a bit of google image searching and honest appraising and my money’s on Hewitt, just about. Harry does look a little bit like a Spencer, but also a bit like a Hewitt, and not a great deal like a Windsor. Would explain the lack of love and excess of tension between the brothers and their father. It’s hardly the most unlikely possibility in the world, why would it be such a surprise? I agree with Kimbers, Harry and his family have had to endure being thrown under the bus whenever the press have attacked them, of course they're not saints, but you look at the negative press they've had throughout their relationship, the amount of stories coming from 'royal insiders' or 'royal correspondents' that have snowballed for them is keeping the press in business, put that up against the complete and utter lack of any negative press for Wills and Kate, and the number of puff pieces they get throughout the year and you can see why they'd be a bit miffed.
The royals are struggling, Charles is currently in the honeymoon period of being the King so making no waves, but reality is, a lot of peoples support for the monarchy wained when the Queen passed away, the press are probably counting the days they can start negative campaigns against him and Camilla.

The press don’t like the backlash from him and his wife. And a lot of the public side with the press, often without even realising it. They get in our heads so well with their drip drip repetition when they want to take someone down. Well, they’ll never stop stabbing at him and those closest to him… he should fight back by any means possible… don’t be demure, don’t quietly take it, fight dirty with any means he has, be it in the courts or in a book… push back… fight fire with fire on all fronts.

Had a look, all I found was the brothers being neighbours at various points over the last eleventy years. Nothing about anyone knobbing the neighbour(s).
I'm not going to read any of the royal stuff one way or another. I've turned the radio off a few times this last week. My main take away from all this is if Charles treats one of his sons like this and the next in line for the throne acts like claimed then these over privileged muppets are not my representatives and it pretty much kills any last apathy towards royalty I'm now a republican, unless they sort out extra bank holidays, preferably on a Friday when I don't have the kids so I can get a cheeky days riding in.

The thing is, it didn't work, and quite a bit of time has passed. It's not like he left the royals, said "I want privacy" and then the next day released a book. He left the royals, wanted some normalcy, didn't get it, got years of sledging and "insider sources say" and casual racism towards his wife and all that crap, this is a reaction to all of that. He said how he wanted it to go, it didn't happen, he's changed his position based on how the reality has turned out. It's not in a vacuum

*and it doesn't take a genius to hypothesize out where they were fed from. Even if not every story came from "an anonymous source at the palace", it's that that kept them in the news and made other negative stories valuable. And what's in the mails gossip column ends up in the rest of the news even if you neither read the Mail or Gossip rags.
