He’s now talking about being forced to leave the U.K., slinking off to Kuwait or Qatar or somewhere like that, all his snivelling little buddies are blaming the British people, the meeja, etc, when the problem is with him and a sense of entitlement the size of a gas giant.

And I use that simile deliberately.

And Andrew, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I assume he wants us to pay for his ticket?

Be worth it for once.

I can see why those countries would appeal to him. The plebs arent allowed to criticise their betters there.

Just what do we think went wrong with Andrew, compared to his siblings? Seems to never miss an opportunity to be a massive idiot.

To quote Eddie Izzard, "because it's a bad idea when cousins marry. IQs, down the toilet."

It'll go quiet for a bit now, though.

Presumably this Staley bloke released this to give The Firm a bit of a nudge that he might appreciate a bit of help.

A few strings will be pulled behind the scenes and it'll go quiet again.

"Keep in close touch and we'll play some more soon!!!!" said an email sent to Epstein from a "member of the British Royal Family", believed to be Prince Andrew.

What could he possibly have in mind…? [img] [/img]

She seemed to be having significant difficulties over the past few years - marriage collapse, separation from kids, etc.  The recent car accident story which was disputed by the police and her family was probably the last cry for help.  Very sad.

Sad for her and her family.

To have found herself in Epstein's clutches in the first place probably means life was challenging from the off - they preyed on the vulnerable.

Let the conspiracy theorists commence.....

So....Andy's lost his 'titles'. Though not seemingly his 'Prince' moniker.

The messaging of this is been cringy yet again - allowing him to make the statement like he's had anything to do with it.

Heart bleeds for the poor chap.

Not really, he was allowed to give the impression it was his decision and he was doing the “honourable “ thing because that’s what an honourable chap like him does. Pathetic entitled (well not so much now!) prick. Plus he hasn’t been stripped of the titles but just given up using them so his daughters can still be princesses.

I assume 'we' still have to pay the little weasel and his ex partner ?  Genuine question. TBH if we have to fund them, I only assume that would continue until Will is King as he very obviously hates Randy

No, he’s not a working royal anymore so doesn’t get paid and the King doesn’t pay him anything privately either.

He should retire quietly out of public news to tend to his garden.

I mean what's the point of still wanting to be seen in public etc, after all his lifetime experiences?

The daughters are lucky they are still working royals, but I suspect their roles will also slowly diminish in future coz taxpayers might not approve.

He played a blinder when his current gaff was being renovated and got himself excused from paying rent for the remainder of the 75 year lease from the crown estate. It's just the minor inconvenience if finding £260k a year it takes to run that might be a mild issue.

He’s a self serving , odious,  idiot of a man. The sight of him chuckling and smiling at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral the other day summed him up. Too stupid to realise the rest of the royals think, at best, he’s a total prat while simultaneously not giving a shit either  because he genuinely believes he’s better than everyone else. He would have been thinking that if he was seen to be laughing and joking with the others then the general public would see that he was still a key player in the family whilst being totally insensitive to the fact that a funeral was not the best place for a laugh and a joke.

So he won’t get use a ridiculous title and honour given to him by his mummy, he doesn’t get to unwrap presents on Christmas Day with his extended family but still gets a free luxury house and household staff, paid for indirectly by all of us. It’s like a parody.

This is why hereditary titles and power are a disgusting concept full stop. Nothing about this toerag is special. The only reason he has had the life he has, done the things he's done and believe he's entitled to have done them, is who popped him out.

It's an affront to decency, fairness and common sense.

However desirable it would be to get rid of the German inbreds (in a slightly more civilised manner) its not likely to happen when the majority of our fellow citizens seem to have been brainwashed into a serf mentality.

Oddly, this is why I'd be quite disappointed if Andy disappears. Personally I'd have liked him up there on the balcony with in his fake uniform with all his shiny fake medals just as a regular reminder to the hard of thinking that sycophantic worship of the house in Saxe-Coburg-Gotha Windsor is a bit ikky.

Meanwhile in America....

That's the point this episode should be highlighting. "Oh they work so hard, they do so much good for the country, they bring everyone together..." That's why they're in the job is it? So I'm fine with him being in the news, (tho he is the one royal that everyone agrees about...)

Only by agreement. He formally still holds all his other titles as that requires legislation to remove them. It’s little more than a shallow pr stunt. As for income I’m sure his brother can ask his dubious friends for more paper bags of cash to fund him.

As will all things that relate to this family it’s just smoke and mirrors whilst they get ever richer

Indeed. The bit that surprises me though is that she didn’t have sex with anyone else at these parties. Given their reputation and her claims of being virtually a slave to do as she was told I’m amazed that no one else is mentioned in the media storm

Strange that you've not been following USA media coverage? In the past there has been plenty of coverage of the others she identified over there. Some of those she accused she later said she may have been mistaken about... so they're no longer news... a few took their own lives. I suppose because Windsor was both easily identifiable (by her when she was a teen) and still alive (more's the pity)... pair that with being very high profile both here and in the USA... and he's still getting attention. That attention is probably much higher because of his obvious attempts at covering his tracks. His abuses of his position are a big part of the story, especially over here where whether he should lose his position (of course he should) is the news story.

More generally, Epstein and Maxwell's other connections and "play buddies" in the USA are still very much news worthy over there.

His abuses of his position

That’s just standard practice for the royal family. I’m sure the security service and his protection officers from the met knew what was going on. I suspect the whole of the rf knew especially the queen and Charles but neither seemed bothered until it became a pr issue for them

That’s just standard practice for the royal family.

It became more or less standard practice for several MPs too. Boris (when he was Foreign Secretary) gave his security the slip and buggered off to a party held by Evgeny Lebedev at his villa in Italy.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jul/26/boris-johnson-security-evgeny-lebedev-perugia-party

That royal sense of entitlement. Do what you want, when you want - damage limitation and reputation comes afterwards.

The papers are saying that "the firm" is looking for a new home for the disgraced prince.  They've got a lot of palaces and houses,  none of which fit the bill.

Surely they haven't overlooked Dartmoor?  The prison has been empty for years and we're still paying for it.

Well.....

I spent some time in the same naval air squadron as our beloved prince. We actually had digs in the same wardroom. I had a tiny little room on one side of the building and he had the whole wing of one floor on the other. Only he didn't, because he never actually came to work. Not once in the whole 6 months I was based there. Wasn't on a ship or owt - just couldn't be arsed to come to work.

The RN moved out a long time ago but for reasons (planning bla bla, developers going bankrupt bla bla, asbestos being rife through the whole thing bla bla bla) it's still there. A bit draftier than it used to be mind. He could make up for lost time and wasted tax payers money back in the day and move in now. Hell, I reckon we could be generous and he could have the whole building. I mean, who wouldn't want to live in Portland?

Anyone else bemused at monarchists wanting him to be disinherited (or whatever having his titles and priveldiges removed is called)? If you actaully belive in that institution, and it's premise (inheritance) how are you then able to pick, choose and depose them? Surely it's an ellection at that point, albeit in the opinion sections of the newspapers rather than the ballot box?

The prison is in the suitably named 'Princetown' I guess- slap bang at the heart of the Dutchy Of Cornwall - but given how much money and  effort Charlies trust has poured into trying to revive the towns fortunes over the years I doubt he wants to blight the place again

However, while we all celebrate, I keep thinking there must be many Epstein associates who have done similar things who have got off Scott free.

That's not meant as sympathy for Andrew in any way - more that it's a hollow victory.

It's ****ing ridiculous, they should use his father's proper surname and call him Mr Andrew Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg.

Then he could be deported for being a pedophile and a sex offender.

After they bung him five hundred quid for going quietly and not causing a fuss.

Australian football pundit Craig Foster nails it . I don't understand why countries like Australia and New Zealand keep that attachment to the past.

From a UK perspective I'm not necessarily a republican , in some ways I like the history of it all and would be sad to see them go but it's clear that people involved with the royals  knew what he'd been up to and the queen used her or possibly our money to try and make it go away . Banishing him to live in luxury in Norfolk is not taking responsibility for those actions .

He is acting as the family scapegoat. It’s not as if his brother is entirely innocent with affairs and bags of cash from dubious sources, and thats just the stuff thats leaked out. Then there is Charles and Billy’s slim landlord business and their constant demands for more public money via thier stolen land businesses. I find it unbelievable that the whole family didnt know what he was doing and were quite happy to go along with it
