I've been using Google Maps / Navigation on Android for years now. Recently though the map zooms out between junctions and only shows the close up zoom as I approach a turning. I know this is probably user error but I cannot for the life of me turn it back to how it used to be.

Any ideas?

On mine you have to activate that once a route is plotted; it's not the default.

In the block at the bottom where it says time & miles (to destination), there is a X in the left & a split arrow symbol towards the right. Selecting this displays the route as a whole. Pressing 'recentre' on mine sticks it back to normal nav mode where it follows the detailed trace.

Although I haven't updated any of my apps for ages, so it might have changed.

Mine has started doing this since an update. Can't stick it, but haven't found a way to change it back.
