I have not been able to ride my bike since November due to a knee injury (acute pain due to the patella not tracking properly). I am now on the road to recovery and can begin cycling again but I am terrified of doing too much too soon. Does anybody have any tips about post injury training?

That patellofemoral syndrome is a bugger isn't it.

Did you get exercises to strengthen the right muscles? If so, just get back to it gradually. I'd say cycle gently, don't hammer the hills. Maybe a lot of flat ish road to begin with. Why don't you ask your doctor? 🙂

Hi Molgrips, thanks for the tip.
Yes, I have a number of excercises to strengthen certain muscles and a number of stretches too.
I did ask my Doctor & Physio for advice but wanted to add to it with the thoughts of people who have experienced similar problems. Slow and steady seems to be the way forward.
Cheers.

Definitely slow and steady. Make sure your bike is set up perfectly too. Biomechanical assessment needed?
