In fact, without Jim Martin, it just wouldn't be the Real Thing.

Ooh, I've just had flashbacks to Brixton Academy in 1992 - mad, mad night, having to drag my mate up out of the mosh pit as he'd been knocked down, couldn't get up and was being trampled. Brilliant night 🙂

Interesting to see Jo posting on this thread since I spotted some FNM lyrics in a mint episode the other week (Midlife crisis in fact)

I've got that feeling it has to be Patton on vocals

Saw em in about '89 - Patton is one of the most chrismatic frontmen I've ever seen. Worth seeing live for him, although I usually have no interest in bands reforming for 'greatest hits' tours.

Reforming? I demand 'Evidence'. Hope it's true, it would be a 'small victory'. Actually it'd be ****in' ace. I loved FNM. Saw 'em @ Sheffield Arena in '92 iirc - Angel Dust tour.

Ah, Epic... Truly a track worthy of its title.

Its so cool, its so hip, its alright
Its so groovy, its outta sight
You can touch it, smell it, taste it so sweet
But it makes no difference cuz it knocks you off your feet

Fantastic, heard rumours about this about a month ago. Don't care about Jim, it's Patton's voice that makes the songs for me. Still wear my Angel Dust tour shirt from time to time, and FTM songs pop up regularly on my iPods, in fact Midlife Crisis played randomly this morning. Time for Soundgarden to reform as well. One thing I always liked about FTM was their sense of humour when doing covers; The BeeGee's, Midnight Cowboy soundtrack, etc.

Christ Cap't, you're such a Jizzlobber.*

* Not really matey, but I had to find somebody on this thread to aim it at... Brilliantly over-used in the distance past of Uni. The term. Not the practice. Ahem. 😀

Anyone else got their first album. It was called "we care a lot" and came out on mordam records before the "introduce yourself" album. Its quite rare and yes I am being a bit smug 🙂

it would be bordering on malpractice if they did reform and while some might think it be a small victory if they did I think the majority would think it to be falling to pieces. It may be that you want it all but I think my fond memories of them would only get smaller and smaller. But hey, I'm easy like Sunday morning..... 😀

Had the lp (and much other FNM vinyl) Sold it on ebay to fund bike purchases. I hardly played the first album it as a) it was so rare, and b) its not a fab record really is it? I loves Angel Dust the best.

This really has come from out of nowhere, I haven't heard any rumours or anything.

Anyway, it's easy to see Jim Martin's more than just a man, without him everything's ruined and I'm not sure we care a lot.
