Looking for a posh (dog friendly) hotel next to a sandy beach within 3 hours driving time of North West England.
Which would you recommend please?

More like 5 hours drive but the Saunton Sands hotel would be my pick
Sorry I don't have any personal recommendations, but within 4 hours drive you could get to the Ayrshire coast (Puma hotels' Marine is on offer with Travelzoo/Secret Escapes and Turnberry resort if you have any Starpoints are certainly posh). Otherwise, for sandy beaches you could look around Southport, Pembrokeshire, Northumberland coast or off the Lleyn Penisular / Barmouth area.
Never seen a dog in saunton sands hotel but I did see a golden eagle poo in the bar.
Bits of the Wirral are nice and so are bits of Anglesey. I went to West Kirby about 4 times before I realised it was a seaside - the tide goes out so far, and it's very sandy.
I know nothing of the hotels though.
