Any suggestions for what I can listen to please?
Doesn't have to be music, I've enjoyed things like the Craig Johnston podcast on TalkSport and so on.
Thanks.
Dan Carlins Hardcore History is awesome.
If you're interested in sciencey things then try The Infinite Monkey Cage series.
There is a few good 5live sports specials on cycling and rugby if that's your thing. Fighting Talk, BBC Radio 4 Comedy
David Sedaris is fab, just tells stories but very funny. I am sure you can download his show from 4 extra.
Kermode and Mayo film review, Greg Proops Smartest Man In The World, Marc Maron, The Bugle, Danny Baker, Desert Island Discs.
one of the radio 4 shows (i forget which one - lunchtime-ish, possibly a light quiz thing?) has an unofficial quest as to who can listen to the most of the show's podcasts back to back. 16hrs whilst on a train across china's the record i think, so you could make the leaderboard maybe. daresay someone on here knows which show i'm wittering on about.
I'm not generally a fan of Ricky Gervais but his pod casts with Carl Pilkington made me giggle when we went to Aus.
It was free from a friend which probably made the pill easier to swallow.
Look for the radiolab podcasts. Science stuff but in a more easy to listen to format. They are really good.
Infinte Monkey Cage series was a total bust. Just felt like geeks trying to be funny. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it seemed a bit too "look at me! I am smart and I am trying really hard to be funny".
Loved Dan Carlin's Hardcore Histories though. Absolutely riveting stuff. Especially the Roman History and WWI and II related stuff. Thanks Ewan!
Going to see if I can chuck a donation his way. Cannot believe we can get stuff like that for free off the internet!
1) sign up to "audible" free trial
2) download "I patridge-we need to talk about alan"
3) annoy fellow passengers with outbursts of laughter for 6hrs 50mins.
+1 for The Bugle, Loads of radio 4 comedy, and 5live stuff (kermode and mayo film, daily bacon has some interesting guests on).
Sick and wrong.
Colin Murray's on talksport, nice mix of sports based humour and a guest interview.
Another vote for the Bugle!
Mike Watt (The Watt From Pedro Show) for a wide range of lesser known music and good chat, the recent two part interview with Joe Lally from Fugazi would last you 6 hoursish.
Richard Herrings edinburgh fringe festival and leicester sq theatre podcasts are great and worth downloading, i like rhod gilberts weekly too. the victoria derbyshire interviews are good, the ones with mo farah and chris hoy in particular. the ricky gervais podcast from a few years ago about comic relief is good and i think there is an eddie izzard live set available too, all free.
^ anything by Herring is great, even Me 1 vs Me 2.
I can't get on with the bugle, hate the way they read stuff to each other.
Radio 4 comedy podcast is good if you like laughing.
Both
'Answer me This' www.answermethispodcast.com
and
'Jordan and Jesse Maximum fun' www.maximumfun.org/shows/jordan-jesse-go
Make me laugh out loudly!
Have a look at Kevin Smiths smodcast network, so many to choose from.
Nerdist podcast is worth a look, comb through the back catalogue for many interesting guests.
Cartalk. Absolute friggin genius. An NPR production from the US. My favorite podcast by far.
Richard Herring has a few good ones, I like the Leicester Square interviews with other comedians. The one with Armando Ianucci and Graham Linehan is great.
This American Life is tremendous. A 10 hour flight will pass in no time.
The Bugle
Doug Stanhope's podcast
By the Way with Jeff Garlin (also quite good for falling asleep to)
Friday Night Comedy from radio 4
Search for the 1Xtra Gone Too Soon series, some great documentary/music content.
