MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
In a bungalow, that now has an upstairs bathroom.
The bathrooms water is provided by a pump, that kicks in when it senses a flow of water.
Having disconnected the water, in order to remove the bath, on reconnection the cold water spluttered a bit but cleared any air locks due to the water pressure. The hot water however, which is drawn from a tank that is downstairs, will not run. As there is not enough flow, the motor of the pump will not kick it.
How do i pull the water through?
Suck on the tap with your lips?????
:O)
does the pump need priming?
timbur - that is on my list, attach hose, chuck it out the window and then syphen it.
stoner - primimg? you have lost me already.

If the pump isnt self priming, if there is air in it when it starts up then it cant get a water pressure up as it just keeps squshing the air instead.
maybe try pouring water back down the pipe to the pump to prime it first.
obvious really, ta stoner.
while i can suck start an austin allegro, i didnt really fancy clearing the hot water pipes a lung full at a time.
there may even be a filler cap on the pump itself, have a look see.
do you have a mixer tap? If you have, hold your finger over the outlet, hold on very, VERY tight and then open up both taps*
No idea if that will work for you but it did for me once.
*You will end up getting wet though.
