Got married in the US and got some electrical items (blender, kettle, mixer, ect) as presents. We've decided to settle in the UK for a while and will ship all our stuff over. My question is, Can I replace the plugs with UK style 3 pins, or is the actual appliance dedicated to US voltage?
Any information would be most appreciated.
Depends on the appliance. Some will be dual voltage, some won't. Should be printed on the box and stamped on the label.
Oh, and they probably won't be earthed, so anything metal-bodied needs sticking on eBay.

an adaptor won't change the voltage - so where its feasible (i.e. dual voltage) just change the plug, where its not you need a 110v transformer

I would broadly expect most fancy electronic stuff (tv, hi fi etc) to be dual voltage. Simpler, more robust stuff - kettle, something with a motor in it- is maybe more likely to be wired for one voltage only
