MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I've got a Play it LOUD! playlist on my Spotify, but there's only 2 or 3 that really justify their place in the list. So, help me populate it with some more if you please.
Tracks that defo fit the bill are She sells sanctuary by the Cult, Song 2 by Blur and Screamager by Therapy? Smells like Teen Spirit just doesn't quite cut it for some reason - too many slow quiet bits, I guess.
What am I missing that's of that ilk?
Thanks! 😀
Ghostbusters
Beastie Boys Sabotage
aerosmith Livin’ on the edge
Audioslave - Cochise
Lenny Kravitz - Are you gonna go my way.
L’Tric, The way you are..
Definitely turn it up loud.
Sugar - JC Auto
Pearl Jam - Rear View Mirror
Faith No More - Midlife Crisis
Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench
Jailbird - Primal Scream
Bob Mould - The Descent
The Charlatans - How High
Placebo - Meds
RATM - Bombtrack
Chilli Peppers - Give it Away
30 Seconds to Mars - Kings & Queens.
Slightly different, but turn it up loud and it'll let you know if your speakers are up to scratch
Ace of Spades
Kennedy
No-One Knows might not fit the bill (too many slow bits, but when it hits that bit, I instantly add 30% to the volume)
System of Down - Chop Suey!
Faith No More - Epic
Pennywise - Now I Know
blink-182 - Carousel
DevilDriver - Clouds Over California
The Gaslight Anthem - Rollin' and Tumblin'
Soundgarden - Rusty Cage
Musicians were making people's hair stand on end about 400 years before rock music and 300 years before electricity was invented. This is amazing played loud: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Praetorius-Lutheran-Christmas-Gabrieli-McCreesh/dp/B0000057EH
This. Difficult listen but when that drum cuts in and I have the volume up it takes my breath away even 20 years later.
AC/DC Thunderstruck
Rickos, share that playlist and make it collaborative so we can add tracks and listen ourselves
Blackout in the Red Room - Love/Hate
COME ON FEEL THE NOISE!
Swear loudly and break things along with Idles
(might be too new for this playlist, sorry)
oh yea, if we can get sweary...
Anything by Babymetal, officially the loudest (and strangest) band I've seen this year. So loud I could feel my lungs vibrating in my ribcage!
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - 'One Hot Minute'
Justify? Because multi-layered slabs of delicious Navarro guitar, visiting classic signature riffage yet marinaded in hot chilli. So many solid riffs and little bridges, until THEN the unapologetic SUSTAIN on that crushing two-note outro. Woof woof. Sing at the top of lungs vocals. You'll sing that ****er until your throat gives.
Scientist - Dub Landing - Beaming
MC5 - 'Kick Out The Jams'
Justify? Because of eternally monumental kickassery. Live and raw as it comes.
A few songs by Parkway Drive
The Void
Vice Grip
He may be a complete twonk but that glam rock stomp is ear bleeding awesomeness
Old(ish).
Obvious.
But bloody awesome.
Porcupine Tree..Arriving Somewhere But Not Here
Why ? ..Because after a ( very!) slow intro it will rive your nuts off before it ends ..
ROTM - 'Killing In the Name Of'
Justify? Because you can't physically play at a low volume. Either off or 11, depending on whether you actually like it.
Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the name
Nirvana - Territorial Pissings
Cult - Love
G&R - Welcome to the Jungle
Bikini Kill - Rebel Girl
Sex Pistols - almost all of NMTB, but especially Bodies
Foals - What Went Down
I'll not link the video here for obvious reasons, but Nine Inch Nails' Closer.
You need some Rammstein in there too but I'm spoilt for choice. Maybe Links.
House of Pain - Jump Around
Public Enemy - Harder Than You Think
La Grange - ZZ Top
@Cougar I'd go with Du Hast
The Greatest by Alabama Shakes. justify...well, why not
@kayak I love “waiting room “
@ captain flash heart- I saw love/hate at the marquee. They were ace.
🙂
2nd Cochise
CFH - I remember getting the cassette single of Black in the Red Room and playing it over and over and over on a hot summers day back in 90? Epic tune and the associated album was great too...

new order - pump panel reconstruction mix
bjork - all is full of love

Rammstein - Rammstein
Salami Fever by Pepe Deluxe. (for the epic cowbell)
Information Conrtraband by Money Mark
Organized by Morgan (featuring a Hammond that used to belong to The Who)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z_KMrwDui4
I can't find a link to 'Kids get kicks' by Clint Boon
so
have this remix of The Dogs of Lust by The The instead
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmXRz48z5ZY
oh, and 'With My Baby' by Avalanches
‘Wish’ by Nine Inch Nails.
Turn it up to eleven!
King of the Road - Fu Manchu
Vincent - Car Seat Headrest
One Inch Man - Kyuss
Vietnam - Jimmy Cliff
Touch Me I’m Sick - Mud Honey
Turn It Up - Ugly Duckling
Literally anything by Clutch. Go on, just pick a track at random and crank up the speakers.
Well in honour of the late great Vinnie Paul I'm going to nominate four Pantera tracks plus a bunch of unpleasantness from my music collection:
Pantera - Cemetery Gates, Domination, Walk and 5 Minutes Alone
Suicidal Tendencies - Institutionalised or Send Me Your Money
Metallica - Anaesthesia or Creeping Death
Soundgarden - Burden in my hand
Rancid - Junkie Man
Alice in Chains - Man in the Box
Gun - Welcome to the Real World (yes it's a bit soft in this company but it's good LOUD)
Live - I Alone
Megadeth - Hangar 18
Stone Temple Pilots - Wicked Garden
Terrorvision - Perseverance
Therapy? - Knives
L7 - Mr Integrity
Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Round
/thread
😉
Gun – Welcome to the Real World (yes it’s a bit soft in this company but it’s good LOUD)
You won't hear any criticism of Gun from these quarters. Though, is that the best LOUD choice? If we're stepping away from the obvious picks like Word Up, what about Money (everybody loves her)?
PJ Harvey- Stella, for some very chunky guitar and amazing vocals, then explore Albums ‘Dry’ and ‘Rid of Me’.
Bjork ‘Army of me’ obviously:
Slayer ‘Jesus saves’ and the rest of Reign in Blood.
😬
Some of my favourite play it loud tracks
White Limo - Foo Fighters
Intellectualise my blackness - Skunk Anansie
Givin' the dog a bone - AC/DC
Warthog - The Ramones
Hysteria - Muse
Pain for pleasure - Sum 41
God save the queen - Sex Pistols
I made a playlist. Add tracks. Enjoy
Can you only search for playlists with Premium?
OH well **** Splotify!
Add this
its nice that STW embed things and everything but sometimes you just want a link that people can click. Try this?
spotify:user:julianwinstanley:playlist:0S64CKgZQWG1nElDHDvPSn
maybe past that line into browser - when I do that I'm prompted to open spotify. Or just paste into the spotify search box and search for it, that should find the playlist
Nowhere to Run - Martha and the vandellas.
Try it before you dismiss it.
Quute alot of motown actually.
+1 some Motown, not a big fan (or anything that could be described as a fan-like) but it plays well loud, jv speaks truth.
Also dub/reggae is made for loud. Yet again, OP was narrowly specific in request as to genre.
Staying marginally OT, all the following (and for differing reasons) sound AMAZAHN when bending the car speakers, IMO:
The Field - 'Is This Power'
British Sea Power- 'A Trip Out'
James Brown - 'Soul Power (live)
The Four Owls - 'Silent Flight'
Sonic Youth - 'Sugar Kane'
Leftfield - 'Song of Life'
Joe Walsh - 'Rocky Mountain Way
The Who - 'Baba O'Reilly'
Pharaoh Overlord - 'Black Horse'
My Morning Jacket - 'Holding on to Black Metal'
Underworld - 'Rez'
Today in the sun? Got to be Patti Labelle's 'Lady Marmalade' up in yr boom-room or I swear you're missing out
Quute alot of motown actually
Aside from the words "of that ilk" in the OPs post, of course 😉
Good that he's getting some variety of course, being stuck in 90sIndieland is no good for anybody. 😀
Having said that, this 90s Cult track is quite a blast:
reminds me of something I used to bust out in the car a few yonks back
Rusty Cage - Soundgarden. Just cos.
Them Crooked Vultures. Whole album. rip that knob off.
T'pau? Yeah get some Rick Astley on there while you're at it! 😆
Oi, no dissing the Decker.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have a trawl through when I have spare few hours.
I did have Dakota on my list originally, but it doesn't quite do it in the LOUD stakes.
Surprised it hasn’t been mentioned yet but,
has got to be included!
Bang your head to this!
Faith No More & Boo Yaa Tribe - Another Body Murdered
Auf der Maur -Followed The Waves
Tool - Schism
Of course if you work in some jobs it's not what you play but how you play it...
