It's a strange fact of life that every so often, you find yourself agreeing with the execrable TV personality Piers Morgan. .
"Woman with two children goes into labour. I'M SO EXCITED!!!"
Republicanism, like politics, makes strange bedfellows.
They have a special tooth to allow them to cut through the leathery shell of the egg.
"It's a boy"
Too posh to push?
Yeah, he may say that but given the opportunity to interview them he would be a study in sycophancy, arsehole that he is.
However, on the subject of another royal mouth to feed...

We should celebrate every new born child, not just “heirs”

If you were a Nigerian business man desperate to find someone prepared to help you; you could do worse than harvesting the email addresses of those patriots stood outside St Mary's hospital right now.

However, on the subject of another royal mouth to feed…
well the last of the Corgis carked it last week.
one in. one out.
At least the Queen mum's not there to scoff it.
"Mr Speaker, on my behalf and those who I represent I am unable to join in this public address. I owe no allegiance to any hereditary ruler and I will expect those who do to allow me the ordinary courtesies of debate. The resolution, Sir, proposes to congratulate Her Majesty on the birth of a son to the Duke and Duchess of York. It seeks to elevate to an importance which it does not deserve an event of daily occurrence. I have been delighted to learn that the child is a fairly healthy one, and had I had the opportunity of meeting its parents I should have been pleased indeed to join in the ordinary congratulations of the occasion.
<snip>
We are asked to rejoice because this child has been born, and that one day he will be called upon to rule over this great Empire. Up to the present time we have no means of knowing what his qualifications or fitness for that task may be. It certainly strikes me – I do not know how it strikes others – as rather strange that those who have so much to say about the hereditary element in another place should be so willing to endorse it in this particular instance. It seems to me that if it is a good argument to say that the hereditary element is bad in one case, it is an equally good argument to say that it is bad in the other. FROM HIS CHILDHOOD ONWARD THIS BOY WILL BE SURROUNDED BY SYCOPHANTS AND FLATTERERS BY THE SCORE and will be taught to believe himself as of a superior creation."

real, fully grown, men.... i mean... come on

@mulacs Except that it's not, though, is it? I mean, it may well be that the Crown and those surrounding it have their sycophantic fans, but there is no more empire, the Crown does not rule; it reigns, and I don't think for one second the new baby will be taught to believe himself a superior creation.
And most certainly, no such criticisms would apply more to the modern royals than to any figure within the American celebrity cult.
If you had an opportunity to have your own Midwich Cuckoos moment; entice the whole blood line into a single spot and then take one for the team, would you? I think I would.
Not because I have any reason to feel malice towards any current member of the clan (other than not having done the right thing and renounced their affiliation) but for what hereditary monarchy does as a concept to those growing up under it. We foster a society were our utopia would be that every person, irrespective of gender, sexuality or 'breeding' can reach the top of any profession given the right attributes and work ethic. And then we have Royals sat there on a pedestal just to remind the world that some things are out of reach.

And all that national anthem singing at school had no effect on you eh?
No. Living next door to the USA did, though, as did the time I spent in the Caribbean and getting to see what the Commonwealth meant.
funny that when this childs great great uncle wilhelm used chemical weapons he was rewarded with a holiday in the Netherlands
