I was in Morrisons this morning & staff were going round giving chocolates out. When I was asked if I wanted one I kindly declined & said, 'pork pies on the other hand'

(& before anyone says it, yes I know Morrisons pies are crap.)

Mattyfez - something not quite right with the tray of pies, i think they are too shiny. That means they are the dreaded "artisan" pie and that means looks are far more important than taste. I will however change my opinion if you assure me they were full of pork pie jelly goodness

They are from http://www.ingfield.co.uk

They come in various kinds, pork and stuffing, onboard mushy peas, pork and mustard. The scotch egg is a 'dragon egg' as theres chilli mixed in with the sausage meat.

To be fair, the covered market/arcade in central Oxford is pie eater/carnivore heaven. I only went there once just before Christmas and it was like something out of another world 🙂

Soooo many dressed turkeys in one place

Christmas eve is our big pie day, we are spoiled here with at least three really great pie butchers on Doncaster market. Can't wait to tuck into some of this:

It's grim up north.

I love pies but I don't like the jelly (it's the texture rather than the taste). I have to take the meat filling bit out and scrape off the jelly.

The pie from Donny market looks excellent!

That pie looks like something I'd use to hold a door open.
