MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Hi,
Can anyone give me a run down on how you remove things from an image on photoshop ? For example a pic of a bike propped up with a stick - how do i remove the stick ?
Usual way is the Clone Tool.
You hold ALT and click where you want to clone from, then you paint over the stick.
depends on what the background looks like, but if it's fairly plain and you've got a fair bit of similar colour/pattern around then select area around the stick with either lasso or rectangular marque tool or similar. then select "patch tool", drag the stick area away and it will replace it with whatever sample area you move it to.
sort of hard to explain, but experiment with the patch tool and you'll work it out.
other than that, you can use the healing brush - press alt and click to set the sample area, then draw over the stick. again, experiment and you'll see.
if you want to just put it on here i'll do it for you!
It's easier if you do it on a new layer (don't forget to set your clone tool to 'sample all layers'). Then you can run your cloning over the bits you want to retain and just erase them or mask them out afterwards for a nice sharp edge.
Got it!
Thanks!
