Living in London sucks on many levels, but it has given me an opportunity to get into dance photography, which is something I was wanting to do for a long time.

Longer exposures and/or tracking and not jamming the subject into the frame will be more likely to give the sense of motion required to prevent it looking like you're photographing contortionists.
Critique welcome - I'm still learning what I like myself.
These are both on a Fuji X-E1 with the kit lens (XC 16-50) more or less in point and shoot mode. Some cropping afterwards...

Critique welcome -
It's interseting light, looks almost like it was taken during a partial eclipse so it has that low light but not dusk feel to it that is so unique to an eclpise.
You've got an odd bokeh ball effect in the image, almost as if it's lens flare but it could be a specular highlight from a drop of moisture on the filter? Your sensor also has dust on it; there's a spot in the top left area that's quite visible.
If you loped the top fifth to quarter off the top you'd remove both artefacts and generally improve the balance perhaps?

I think it's lens flare (mid afternoon, pointing South West), and I see what you mean about the splodge. I couldn't see it on other pics, so hopefully it's on the filter not the sensor.

It will almost certainly be on the sensor rather than the front element of the lens. You can get away with a lot on the front element of a lens and it not cause a problem; but that mark definitely looks like dust on the sensor. You only ever see it when you stop the lens down, say beyond f/11, which is what you probably did for this landscape shot. The bigger the depth of field, the more likely you are to see the mark.
Have you got a 'blower' (for your camera I mean). They're cheap and usually get rid of the problem:

I've no idea what the comments were, but I suppose you should be asking the question: "Who am I taking photos for?". If the answer is "grum", then you need to address the criticism. If the answer is "me", then to hell with what other people think.
I rarely/ever have photos of mine commented on, in this thread or others. My photos obviously don't resonate with the STW crowd, at least not the vocal minority. But I try not to care too much, I just keep taking photos to please myself*.
*Except for paid event gigs đ

I agree with you about who are we taking pictures for. I primarily do it for myself but, like any 'aspiring artist' we all need external validation some time.
Personal criticism is a bit off, but again, no idea what was said so I'll keep my neb out!
Coming from a slightly different position... I take pictures for the very few lucky clients who literally (and I do mean literally) put bread on the table. So I really don't care at all about criticism and critique unless it's genuinely increasing the amount of bread.
Anyway, Photobucket is still working and that's the main thing.

The film and me struggled a bit GT. It's Ilford Delta 400, i used a yellow filter and took them hand held. It was really bright and -17ÂșC without the 30kph wind... I would like to go there again at either end of the day, with a bit more time a Hasselblad and some proper filters..and Delta100

Never stop taking photos, never stop publishing those you feel are worthy of sharing, ever.
Just because you don't get comments or criticism certainly doesn't mean that there are people like me who love seeing your images, I may not comment I may do, it's Your view and insight to the image You captured that I certainly like, you lot have great visual perspective and wiling to share some of that with us mere iPhone snappers/filter obliterators.
This threads by far the best one in STW.
Agree with bikebouy totally.Take photos for yourself, if others like them, bonus. If not, not your problem.
I for one like to share what I like, which is different to what other Greg likes, or Andy/Kit/anyone likes. And that is fine, utterly fine.

I have already photographed this chap before but as happy as I was with that original, I screwed up the framing and the critical focus. So I went back to catch him again (I took him and the other swimmers copies of the previous pictures as a thankyou).
The light was very different, clear and crisp. This is just around 6.30am so the sun is still very low in the sky hence the almost 3-D look.
