For those who find this sort of thing interesting?! http://englishrussia.com/index.php/2010/08/25/gate-to-arctic-lenin-nuclear-icebreaker/#more-17253
Fascinating stuff
Aesthetically beautiful. The clocks are my favourite.
I love old stuff like that. A bloke came round to change my LEB leccy meter to a new Seimens one. Let me keep the old one. New one is a really boring plastic box with LCD panel. 🙁
Reminds me of "Polar Star" by Martin Cruz Smith. Great book, thriller set on a massive Soviet fish processing boat.
enjoyed it - thanks for the link.
man - that Marshall Zhukov had some medals !
Bah!
The link is blocked at work.
I will have a look at it when I go home.
Great stuff, real steampunk chic!
Some lovely art nouveau and art deco stuff there too! That staircase is great...
Good link, thanks!
I like the polar bear statue, but WTF kind of bone is that next to it?! 😯
First time Ive seem a clock with only the 12, 4, and 8 shown
...maybe they worked 4 hour shifts or something.
Medical room looks scary...
nice one thanks for that , army man my self , but naval stuff is cool, esp subs.
Excellent - the medical room looks better equipped than our local hospital, and the ship is clearly way better appointed than a cross-channel ferry! Really interesting - thanks.
No idea why it was blocked at work. Probably beacuse it had the word "Soviet" in it or something. Cheers

Did you remove the magnets before he came?
I saw a bloke with a watch with just 12, 4 and 8 on it. Looked strange but I thought it was a fashion thing. perhaps there is a good reason.
anyone know?

I think that's because they do 4 hours on watch on the bridge?
Those teenagers didn't look too enamoured with it all though...
