Just bought one and within 48hrs the engine management light is on displaying depollution system fault. Is this a common problem? Any suggestions as to which sensor might be causing it?

Take it back.
I assume you have one with a 'DPF'? The system monitors the pressure difference across the particle filter and will put the light on if the filter becomes blocked. You need a code read before anything else.

There is no cheap fix I'm afraid.

Sometimes a blast down the motorway, for a car that has been used mostly in town can sort the problem.

All ready been on tithe garage. They are having it back as soon as I can get it down there. So far I have read that it could be a sensor on the turbo or egr valves seem to be favorite but when that happens the engine goes in to safe mode and won't rev pass 2000rpm but I have still got full revs?
