I'm very interested to know what the general consensus is on Pete.

Personally, I love a lot of his music, and I find him quite fascinating.
I also admire his seemingly straight talking persona, but find it hard to 'like' him..
And then there's the suspicions..

How will history remember him?

The Who never really did anything for me.

Still waiting for his book to come out. Wonder how the research is going these days.

Hopefully like most other great musicians of our time... For his music!

One of the greatest guitarists there's been, from a band that shaped a generation for many people.

Most great musicians have got lots of black marks against their names, but it kinda goes with the territory. True genius is usually flawed!

Nothing but a celebrity ... no need to worship them. You could be better off taking advice from your grandparents.

p/s: just saw the threads after mine so he is a sexual predator ... in that case hang, drawn and quartered.

written some great songs, hampered by a big snoz...stuck up his own arse a bit but Pete rocks in my book. He could be far more annoying.

Like I said, hopefully for his music...

How would you remember Michael Jackson?

Is it better to remember someone for their one indiscretion (no matter how sinister), or for their lifetime of genius?

Or has everyone on here gone all right wing, Daily Mail reading, NIMBY thank you very much on me overnight?

Does anyone want sex offenders in their area?

I dont think disliking people who access child porn images and who are subsequently placed on the sex offenders register is the preserve of the right wing or the daily mail

Tbh I dont know why someone would ignore this or refer to it as a flaw or mock and belittle those who object to his offences and the way fayns overlook because he could play a guitar,

remember someone for their one indiscretion (no matter how sinister]

do you have kids what if his one moment of indiscretion was with them or with you when you were a child ...would your view alter then?*

* for legal clarity lets make it clear that as far as I know Pete admitted to accessing the site and there is no suggestion he himself has done anything other than illegally view child pornography. I am simply wondering how severe the child sex offence needs to be for mboy to change his view
