Thinking of a spur of the moment trip up to Edinburgh in the next weekend or two. Would love to stay at a dog friendly B&B or rustic pub around Edinburgh or the Pentlands. Any suggestions?

The Riccarton Arms is pet friendly and very close to the Pentlands - maybe a quarter mile on road and then the rest on trails and paths. I've never stayed there though, mainly because I live nearby.

The [url= http://www.bridgeinn.com/ ]Bridge Inn[/url] in Ratho serves excellent food and welcomes dogs in the pub side. They have some rather nice rooms, but I have never stayed there since I used to live nearby. Possibly worth ringing to see if dogs are allowed in the rooms?
