As per the title - any safe places to park my van near by?

There's the NCP down the road at the aquatics centre, not sure if you can get your van in though.

If you get there early there's an outdoor carpark right next door, but you can't get in after about 6:30 (not sure of the exact time). There's no problem getting out though.

I always park in the hospital carpark over the road, totally safe, think it's about a fiver

Me too, usually park behind the church opposite, or near the student houses behind the Academy itself.
Loads of frequent and regular buses, too.
