Further more... individuals on this forum are NOT treated equally. If you frequently break the rules then you have used up your warnings. The thresholds then for action that will be taken against you are reduced. Previous warnings and action taken ie.. your record, WILL be taken into consideration and this will dictate if you are banned or just warned.

I don't post on here much because I'm lucky enough to be busy doing other things, I pop on here now and then, when ever I do there is always so crap like this going on. Someone banned, someone moaning about the ban and others saying good riddance to bad shit....repeat to fade. The bellend always is back on in a matter of days anyway.

I don't know why people get so up tight about things that happen on here, I like to have a bit of a tussle from time to time if the days a bit boring and I want a bit of an argument, but that's all it is a timewaster.

I see this phrase a bit. I think its aimed at me sometimes. I know exactly who I am on this form. a prolific poster of strong opinions. No more, no less. Some will listen to me, some will discount anything I say 'cos its me. some might think my opinions valuable in some areas. I do not consider myself a big hitter in anyway.

I expect to me taken exactly as seriously as I deserve and am under no illusions as to how that varies. I certainly do not consider my loud shouty verbose voice to have any more value that (for example) the cosidered druidh - rather the opposite I guess.

I try to take comments by users on the context they are written and try not to let "previous" cloud what they say, hard to do sometimes. I've even agreed with you not that far back.

It's always the same people getting banned by and large, those same people that generally use alter ego logins and those same people that argue that its so unjust once one of the other "big hitters" has been banned.

I understand that some poster will be treated differently because of their past. I personally disagree with that as a way of doing things and I think it devalues a forum but thats the mods choice.

What I find much harder to accept is the double standards in those with no history.

I've posted on here for years. I was banned a few times many years ago for posting direct links to porn or goatse, hey it made me laugh. but in the last 6 months i have been banned for posting on a post that shouldn't have been here. i was banned op wasn't. discussion was that i was wrong, and there was no discussion. I really don't care, but imho the modding in here is unbelievably pious and has no actual basis on actual rules or guidelines. Either something is wrong and deserves a banning, OR its ok and we let it go.

Indeed - its completely inconsistent. This is the issue and its changed recently - there appears to be one or more mods who gets teh banhammer out very easily and its inconsistent with others. So not only doews it depend on who you are but it depends which mod sees a report that depends on what you get banned for. -or that is the appearence. certainly I have reported posts that appear far worse tha the one GW was banned for that nothing was done about - no ban no moddding.

The GW one - he gets banned for a post but the post he was banned for is let on the thread? If its worth a banning then how can the post be left on?

Well i got banned a while ago, for a reasonably funny joke, but some people obviously found offensive, i sent a reply, and explained my point of view, and got a good responce, thank you,

I think we all learn a lot of fellow forumites and have a good laugh along the way, we discuss all sorts, and sometimes disagree, but thats life.

Marmalade should be spread on his buttocks and a very large amount of angry wasps should be released by a bunch of Tory MPs. That'll teach him for bringing this place down to his seedy level.
