I use Outlook as an IMAP mail client. The other day it went a bit bonkers - not letting me read anything until I'd downloaded it even though I was online, and then saying downloading was not supported. And not picking up new mails.

So I removed and re-added the account, and I got all my mail, but now it won't get any new mails. Wtf?

Am I being weird trying to use IMAP? Seems like no-one else does.

Yeah, I think I did.

I'm sure she'll make it again though if I ask nicely.

Mine has started crashing every time I get a new email. Not very helpful.

Started over the weekend, no idea why. Am wondering if some data file has got too big or something but can't see why. It's a bugger because it's the only thing that copes with Hotmail nicely. (Evolution is ok for Linux but when when Windoze...)

Outlook = shite.
Mine goes tits up on a regular basis, in apparently random ways.

For example, yesterday it refused to download anything via IMAP from gmail, until I restarted it. When I did that, it lost all it's view pane settings.

It ws doing ok for me. It's got business contact manager which I was going to use when I got roudn to setting it up.. it's also very good at indexing the people you've had email off so you just start typing their name and it comes up, even if it's not in your address book.

Plus stuff like if someone sends me a calendar item from Notes at work it comes up as a calendar item in outlook and then reminds me properly.

This is 2007 mind - much better than older versions which did indeed go tits up all the time.
