I did check the date, but no, it appears that poor, underprivileged 'historical' clubs like United do desperately need the CL revenue.

UEFA, standing up for the little man, as always.

Really scraping the barrel that - they’ll do anything to avoid a breakaway league.

Lampard looks like a spoilt kid who isn't getting his own way for once. Excellent.

Benzema is on fire right now, I'm not sure anyone else in world football would have taken those two chances

Chelsea’s wheels are well and truly falling off.

To be fair, Real had a pretty genocidal sponsor in the past in the shape of Franco. But yes giggles were heard in our house with Chelsea losing.

I'm different to many i think, i want EVERY English side to get battered each and every euro game, like 29-0. Apart from Liverpool of course 🙂

So i smiled.... but no more so than when any other english side lose.

Just looking at the table right now - it's a tricky one to call but I think it is two out of three (Watford, Burnley and Everton) for the drop given current form and Leeds should just shade it given the current trend of form and assuming Kalvin Philips can finish the season on the field to help stiffen up the midfield.

But if Newcastle lose on Friday night it could make things even more interesting and their current form after a bright start under Howe isn't so great...

The Everton result was poor but losing 1-0 at Chelsea with a very decent performance and an 89th minute goal was not a disaster. The Spurs thing though was a worry, they folded badly, then again Kane was a masterclass and not many would have coped with him in that form.

I reckon with their run in they should be OK before it gets to Liverpool, City and Arsenal. OTOH, Bumley on the last day could be high stakes!

Much will depend on which version of Wolves turns up on Friday night.

Well if they do win on Friday, they'll go above us and West Ham (having played more games) so that should provide some motivation.

Then we've got Everton on Saturday and given our present woeful form, that will surely be one of those games they'll fancy getting at least a point from. The last teams you want to be playing at this point in the season are the ones in a relegation scrap, even if they are as crap as Everton

I am conflicted about Everton - one of my best mates is a lifelong supporter but Fat Frank...

I kinda get this, as it’s normally Chelsea, Utd, or cash-strapped plucky upstarts Citeh and I’m happy to see any of them lose. I think having seen how Atletico Madrid have gone from a side one could easily watch to the level of dirty cynical cheating under Simeone it’s probably the first time I’ve wanted to see Citeh win a UCL game. There are dark arts and then there are dark arts in a team run by Simeone. They are just a horrible side and bring nothing to the game. They did nothing other than try to come away with a scoreless draw the other night, and not by simply parking the bus.

Indeed. Its' not possible to watch them without repeatedly swearing about their ridiculous antics (even if they're playing Liverpool 😉). He makes Maureen look like an open, honest exponent of the beautiful game. They personify everything thats wrong with modern football

I refrained from posting my usual torrent of abuse about Atletico and Simeone (they are truly a horrible side to watch sometimes) and i get the feeling that Slimeone is somewhat disingenuous to his opponents, but i wanted to sleep. Of course Joao Felix is a bit special already.

Given 6 of the last 7 games have been away from home, I think form is OK. We now have Wolves, Leicester and Palace at home then Norwich away which should allow us to garner enough points to stay up.

How many points to stay up? I'm going for 37.

Crazy to think Everton won four of their first five games. Since then they’ve accrued the least points of any team in the league, even Norwich.

Their only hope is their run in against better sides inspires them somewhat. Or they ditch Frank in a couple of games and Big Dunc does his caretaker thing.

I did not know that. Shocking stats. And four of their points have been against Leeds.

Pathetic sending off in the West Ham game. Everything that is wrong with football. A mere hand off, player goes to ground.

After all that work Burnley did to get back in the relegation battle, along comes ManU and ruins it alL for them!

Since September Everton have now won one more Premier League game when compared to players who have appeared in Court … 5-4!!

It's actually weird to think that ManU were actually playing to fight for 4th place and that last CL spot, just wish we could get Gary Neville on the TV now ;o)

Another typically half-arsed performance, with nobody looking like they were particularly interested and the usual overpaid suspects completely AWOL yet again.

I said that Everton must fancy this fixture as one to pick up points. We deserved nothing out of that.

Slow handclap for slabhead for his usual marvellous contribution

Steve Cooper - Walked in to Forest with 0 points from a possible 21 on the books, is now pretty much banging on the door of the second auto spot, we've been in auto form since he walked in. It's been a long wait.

Relieved after Leeds won a potential banana skin game with Watford, particularly after Newcastle beat Wolves last night and Man Utd made a dismal display of losing to Everton (who only 3 days ago looked down and out against Burnley). Assuming Watford and Norwich are effectively down, if Burnley win tomorrow I still think Everton could go down as their run-in is horrible, though at least Fat Frank has managed to improve their attitude and they were a totally different team to Wednesday (although the insipidness of Man Utd may have helped that perception) which might give them a chance of staying up.

Come on Burnley! This is the part of the season where you usually put a run together to stay up.

The league would be a lot less interesting without Sean Dyche gargling gravel on MOTD every week

Loved his reply when asked how he motivates his players to perform against bigger, more well resourced clubs

“I just shout at them”

😂

the fact they aren't and Liverpool won't be that passive in the second half has set this up very nicely

edit - bang on cue.....I'm about 4 mins behind having nipped out for milk at half time.

It's a funny old game this one, both sides looking fragile, always wonder why Liverpool stick their two best forwards so wide in big games, Diogo has scored, but not much else, whilst Mane and Salah are always doubled and having to work hard to get room, Mane i can see, but Salah is just wasted out there most of the time.

They always play out wide argee and cut inside? Jota can look average a lot but comes up with the goals time and time again.

Looking at the run in you can’t see City dropping a point!

I watched it as a lone neutral (United fan) in a house full of scousers. There has been a lot of swearing. I’ve had a lovely afternoon winding them up 😃

Citeh should have had it done and dusted by half time as Liverpool looked like theyd borrowed our defence for the first half 😂

I know they play wide, move and switch, but Mane and Salah were sticking back and wide a hell of a lot, i remember on more than one occasion TAA being higher up than Salah, and these weren't overlaps, it just seemed they were sacrificed a little due to TAA and Robertson not being as effective against Man City, Cancelo and Walker (and of course the attackers) really did a job on those two.
