I see Spurs are being Spurs again, they really do have a real hatred for silverware!

Saves a fortune in silver polish. They only win when the year ends in a 1, such 61 & 81. So 2061.

Lots of reports today that Abramovich is desperately trying to sell Chelski for a ridiculous £3Bn.

Allegedly he is also offloading his UK property portfolio to avoid asset freezes too.

😆😆😆

Does the £3 billion price tag include the £1.5 billion owed by the club in loans to a certain Mr R Abramovic?

And donating all net proceeds to "victims of the war in Ukraine." Not exactly being explicit is he, so one wonders how much of that will end up with families in Russia vs families in Ukraine...

Watching Liverpool v Norwich and the red bits on the football reminded me of Fashanu’s goal. I didn’t think it was 42 years ago, god I feel old 😁

ah, so much to love.

A great player scoring a great goal on a cabbage patch of a pitch. And a manager climbing out of an undersized bus shelter to do some random pointing.

WTF do modern players need bucket seats, when a wooden bench was good enough in the past?

I reckon they should have a retro ‘first division’ weekend as a wild card card during the season.

You have to play on a pitch that looks like a potato patch on an allotment, after it’s been raining constantly for about a month and you have the ghosts of various Leeds players who can break your leg at any moment

Anyway… have Chelski gone bust yet?

That’s be a terrible shame.

Maybe Roman can put his full kit on when he finds some mug who’s he’s panicky offloaded it to in a desperate bid to stop his blood-soaked assets being seized because he’s entirely complicit with a genocidal mass-murdering maniac?

Everyone loves Chelski. It’s a terrible shame seeing their present troubles. Who could ever have imagined it would ever come to this? No Chelsea fans seemed particularly bothered, that’s for sure

At least one Chelsea fan on the news seemed to think Abramovich was the victim in all of this

🤦

Meanwhile, everyones favourite footballer, John Terry, expresses his solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

Oh… no… hang on a minute… expresses his solidarity with Russian Oligarch and friend of Vladimir Putin

One might hope this could be the beginning of a long slow decline for Chelsea - they've been the recipients of dirty Russian money for years.

Some other clubs and fans may want to be careful of throwing stones in their glass houses. Maybe the ownership fitness tests will finally be fixed

"Maybe the ownership fitness tests will finally be fixed"

The right and proper ownership tests being 'fixed' is surely part of the problem?

IGMC...

Amanda Staveley (servant to those lovely royal Saudi owners) thinks it's not fair that Abramovich has to sell Chelsea

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60609847

What planet are these gits on?

What planet are these gits on?

Judging from their reactions, the same planet as a lot of Chelski fans, who are portraying themselves as the victims in all this. Poor Roman has been terribly hard done to, apparently 🙄

Maybe the ownership fitness tests will finally be fixed

I suspect the potential buyers of Chelsea will be more of the same, and will be welcomed with open arms just the same.

Yep, pretty poor form from the Chelsea fans today. I had the misfortune to stand in the shed several times in the 80s as a kid and certainly didn't read the room.

There’s been some finishes this weekend, but a couple of worldies in this Arsenal match. It’s a cracking game! Arsenal actually look like the Arsenal of old today, which is not good for us

As for us, Ronnie, Cavani and Varane are all out injured. I suspect we are going to get absolutely battered!

I’ve got my scouse mates coming round too, who are all supporting United. I’m very conflicted about this

Well at least it’s a proper Derby, but if Harry ****ing Maguire stands there pointing at the spot that he’s meant to be in one more time, I might throw the telly out of the window 😡

With the possible exception of De Gea, there isn't a single Utd player who would make it into the squad, never mind team of any top four team in the Premier League.

Men against boys but City are so good they do it to virtually anyone they play.

United in a right pickle now. Need a new striker, couple of decent centre midfielders, right back etc - but who are they going to get if they don’t make the top four, which looks increasingly likely?

I don't think anyone knows what is going on, watching that today and i didn't think Man City were that fantastic, they pass the ball and keep possession brilliantly, but you can see they have no striker on the pitch, they struggled for that third goal, but after that, well ManU gave up.

Not sure what the plan is though, watching that i don't think Wan-Bissaka did himself any favours, Maguire and Lindelof look like they've never played together, midfield you had Pogba with some nice touches, but the second he's not got the ball it's someone else's problem, same with Fernandes, McFred is just meh, not heard Keane have a breakdown over Fred in a while though ;o)

Honestly, Maguire is no captain, neither is Ronaldo though, who do you give it to though, think Pogba is off, PSG will throw him the money he wants, they have so much talent at ManU i just haven't a clue what the big issue is though, is it really just leadership on the pitch, i know there's none off the pitch, and with Arnold now your chief executive, honestly, what hope is there for that?

Honestly, Maguire is no captain

No shit. He’s no defender either. The most overpriced player in Premier League history. He’s shockingly bad!

The only player who is fit to be wearing the armband at United is De Gea. Once again he was the only one who bothered to turn up today. As always.

The whole club is an utter shambles

Feel for ya, Reading lost to Millwall and we're in dire straits. The swamp known as division 1 awaits this Berkshire giant.

I think Micah Richards reaction here probably sums yesterday up perfectly. The club is an absolute laughing stock. He's a brave man doing it when he's sat next to Roy keane though 😂

I think he's brilliant! Even when he's laughing at us (let's face it, we deserve it)

Most pundits seem to take themselves far too seriously.

I get the impression he realises how lucky he is to have had a career playing a sport he loves, and now has a job as a pundit talking about it with current stars and heroes.

How superb were the Villa though ?

Not enough light being thrown on that performance, that's for sure.

Keane's chair gripping is what us Irish fans (the rare non Utd ones) felt when he walked out in Saipan. Didn't like the pitch and wasn't allowed to sit in the front of the plane. Micah is twice his size so I'd say his Rumpelstiltskin impression might backfire.

Come and watch Huddersfield Town on ITV (4) tonight - 18 match unbeaten streak, second in the Championship, the prize of a home tie vs Liverpool in the FA Cup QF.

On council telly too although I might have to 'retune the set' to check we still have that! You know you want it to brighten up your Monday evening. I'll bet Roy Keane will be watching.

Think the sad thing from that clip is that Roy Keane just can't even be bothered getting angry about it, he's pretty much accepting that they are just unfixable just now. Folk have had a go at Roy for being so animated at times about ManU and others, but he wants to see progressive, some spark from the players and struggle to work out how players earning millions, getting whatever they want, playing in front of 80,000 at home can't put the effort in over a full 90 minutes.

I think he'll start giving up on being around the ManU games soon, he's starting to develop ticks when Fred is mentioned!
