Purchased some high end Lange boots about a year ago (08 model Lange Freeride 110, RRP £300+). Tried them on in the shop before buying and felt good.
Since then, everytime I've tried to use them I have ended up in horrific pain. I now suspect its because of the narrow shell width. They've been into Blues twice to get the inners molded, and the shells have been spaced out a bit.
I'm at the stage where I don't want to throw any more money at them, as they don't seem to be getting any better.
They've been used for three weeks on snow, so are in VGC. Is there any point to try and sell them, or is it a waste of time ( suspect there isn't a huge market for s/h boots)
watch some sales on Ebay - you will get a good idea from there.
I had a similar issue with some Technica (can't remember the model, top line tony the tiger ones) that felt great in the shop but eventually had to admit they were plain wrong.
They were hot formed to my feet, had custom footbeds and were stretched.
Bought some new boots and was resigned to binning the Technicas.
Stuck 'em on eBay, clear description including all the hot form/custom work detail and stated do not buy without consulting your boot fitter.
Sold them in auction for £135! They were bid up to £15 more than my buy it now price! Nuts.
Good luck!
Gumtree is a good bet. I advertised a pair a month or so ago, sold within 2 hours.
Which Blues?
EBay is good for getting rid of Ski gear IME. Good kit makes reasonable money.
Also, it sounds like I have similarly mishapen feet to you. I ended up with Head boots after advice as they were the widest in my price range. Much better.
Interesting. I've just come back from a week in France & had a massive boot revelation! My Edge 8s were starting to feel a bit baggy after 3 yrs so took them into the local boot tech (I ski in the same place 2-3 times a year) to get them padded only to find out that they were 3 sizes too big - had bought them from a now defunct retailer cos they were comfy. So I've gone from a 27 to a 24.5 Edge 10! Tried 3 different boots over the course of the week from 2 different shops & actually settled on the women's model because of the wider box & narrower ankle.
Also went for an upgraded footbed at the same time - needless to say, my skiing as improved dramatically!
Do an ebay search on completed auctions.
