And don't use a slow-cooker for pulses - it doesn't cook them hard enough to neutralise whatever it is you need to neutralise in them. Same as generally don't eat pulses raw - garden peas and a few other excepted of course.
Some people say boil the beans for 10 mins before slow cooking. Some say soaking is not necessary. Confusing, it is.
I just pour em from the can.
