So, so many times, have I suffered the same. Perhaps its not a drink problem I have, rather a diminishing memory capacity problem 😉

Mind your tongue doesn't stick to the freezer when you're, eh, "cleaning" it

That looks remarkably like the inside of my freezer (minus the beer - mine never stays in there long enough).

Appears the 6 P's could do some work here - Proper Planning Prevents Pi55
Poor Performance!
Stick all your beers in the FRIDGE 24hrs in advance. 👍😁

I'd like to set up a go pro in my your freezer and watch that happen. Does it come out as liquid, foam or slush before it freezes? And I'm guessing its more explody than crack and ooze. And do the contents of the bottle 'glue' the bits of glass together a bit as they don't seem to go that far?

There's a phd in this.

edit - sorry for your loss.

with tea

Something doesn't stack up here Lewis. The Op is clearly northern/working class. Yet, where are the oven chips, frozen mini-pizzas and Findus crispy pancakes? And if not, who has beer with high tea?

There are an impressive level of well stacked frozen home cooked meals there. I bet his allen keys are correctly ordered on a magnetic board. And the glass frozen ready for the (sadly departed) beer - good skills.

The Op is clearly northern/working class

See that ice-cream - that's got aspirational middle class written all over it.

It's lucky that the OP has another freezer.
What's in that bottle?

Good skills and freezing a glass are a bit of a contradiction, though.

Haagen Dazs & Pizza Express as yet uneaten? Does not compute. Actually it does. ‘Middle class’ means having the funds to keep Haagen Dazs as a ‘backup dessert for unspecified future event’ rather than ‘posh pudding right now’ 😉

Struggling to see why an empty glass will not accept a drop in temperature (obvs you are not freezing the glass). The raise in temperature putting it in a dishwasher is higher from a thermal expansion/contraction perspective.

Anyway, the OP is clearly an expert on all such issues so the glass was in safe hands 😉

Shake the bottle vigorously before putting it in the freezer prevents that.

It does mean that when you do open the bottle the beer comes out fast and instantly freezes though.

That is my fun physics experiment

Exactly the same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Or rather, I mean, "I did exactly the same thing."

I didn't discover the aftermath though, it was The Boy. He asked, "did you leave a beer in the freezer?" Oh, fffffffff....

(Did they clean it up when they found it? Did they eckerslike.)

Busted by jambourgie...

I thought long and hard about which word to use here. I was going to write "dinner" but thought I'd get grief for having beer at lunch or alternatively having lunch in the evening, or something. Certainly wasn't going to call it " supper" that would have been social meedja suicide ,😉

In my defence, I do have an entire shelf dedicated to Birds Eye waffles and chips...

[img] [/img]
And another for fish and turkey twizzlers. Ha.
[img] [/img]
Except, hang on, they're not Twizzlers, and what's that lurking behind...
Oh, the shame of it...

Alas not. I ****ed up. Should have used the glass, but didn't know it was there. Son1 puts them in for his home made smoothies

Hell yeah, look berries and vegetables and stuff. I mean Spinach FFS.

Just a pet peeve of mine - a lot of places in Spain will serve you a beer in a glass that's been in the freezer, and you end up with chunks of ice in the drink. Decent beer should be served in a room temp glass (obvs not hot from the dishwasher!).
